What counts as my period?

I have been spotting for the last two days, very dark brown, resembling the last day of Af. I thought it may have been implantation bleeding since I ovulated about 2 weeks ago and baby danced a couple times that week. I tested this morning, ..negative. Now, I have a full period, which day counts as the first? Today or Thursday?

Every woman is different so I always count spotting as first day cuz mine always starts as spotting as then gets heavier. Even when I was on the pill that's how it started.

​I believe the spotting counts as first day! My doctor always told even it's just a little to always count it, so that's what I do. You can always call and speak to the nurse at your doctors office and ask her just do double check and make sure it's correct!
