Am i the only person who hates color?

I see all these posts with nursery pictures and i could just never ever have any animals or colors or anything like that in my nursery. My daughter's room is 1920's vintage glam, so black and white with small pops of metallic gold. I just can't stand any pinks or purples or butterflies and hearts. Is this odd? My mother keeps telling me its horrible for babys sensory to not have any color, but when i asked my sons pediatrician he said blacks and whites are very calming colors. Basically i just want to see if any others cant fathom having color in the nursery, and what did you do instead?
