Progesterone Cream?

Hi Ladies,

I had a miscarriage at the end of November.... I also have PCOS. I didn't know much about it but been reading up about it since I lost my baby at 8 weeks. 😔

I would like to know if anyone is using progesterone cream to help you in the 1st trimester. If so which one are you using? If you have asked your doctor about it what did he/she say?

I believe I'm pregnant but its early.. 3 weeks. I am going to take a digital test tomorrow.

If I am do you think I should make an apt right away with my doctor to have a consultation about how I think my hormones need to be monitored? I read that women with PCOS take metformin and/or progesterone to sustain pregnancy in the 1st trimester. If you have PCOS please let me hear your thoughts (even if you don't!).

Hi! I've had 2 chemical pregnancies and I am currently miscarrying at 12 weeks (baby stopped growing at 8 weeks). After my 2 chemicals I decided to try progesterone cream (my doctors will not help until 3 chemicals) so I took matters into my own hands and got the cream. When I got pregnant again I continued the cream. My doctor said there's no scientific research to support it so I can stop whenever I wanted. I kept putting it on until our first US at 8 weeks. Stopped the cream, lost the baby. I am absolutely positive progesterone is to blame. I am demanding to be put on a supplement. I hope this helps you. I ordered my cream off Amazon and I just ordered another bottle just in case. Good luck!

I've just had my second chemical pregnancy. My doctor suggested we just keep trying.

Hi! I have PCOS and had a miscarriage as well, on 12/3 naturally. It is the hardest thing to go through as you know. My OBGYN put me on Metformin 500mg two times a day and the first positive pregnancy test I get she told me to start 200mg of progesterone orally. I asked if the low progesterone cause my misscarge but she said it didn't cause it, it was a sign of it :(

Hi there. I am currently 10 weeks and have been on progesterone suppositories since around 7 weeks. This is my third pregnancy in a year with the first two ending around week 9. When I had my first appointment and had my first round of blood work done, my progesterone came back at 11.8 and the said they like to see above a 12. So I've been using the suppositories before bed. As far as I know, I'm still pregnant. We won't know if the progesterone has helped till my next appointment on the 10th.

Definitely go to your doctor. Buying progesterone cream is risky if you don't know the exact amount. After my last miscarriage, my doctor put me on progesterone pills. I took them during the tww and stopped if I got my period. Another word of caution, be ready to be an emotional mess. I had to stop because I was flying into panic attacks. Hope this helped.
