Late Post! Connor Michael's beautiful birth story

Br
Late post here but my baby boy Connor Michael was born December 5, 2015. My labor and delivery was almost perfect and I loved the experience. I told my husband I am ready any time for baby #2!!
I woke up at 3 am on Friday, Dec 4 with period like cramps and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and started doing laundry, I wanted to get stuff done! I had hardly gotten any sleep, I had been up making Christmas cookies until midnight. Carrying the laundry basket upstairs, all of a sudden I felt a gush & thought my water had broken but when I went to the bathroom to check, it was blood! I called my doc's helpline and the doc said to wait an hour and monitor myself and time my contractions so I showered and monitored everything.  I logged on to my work computer and called off sick for the day, I knew I wouldn't go in. We went to get breakfast and ended up going in to the hospital around 7 am with mild contractions, only to have them send me home 4 hours later because I wasn't progressing and was still only at 1 cm and 70% effaced. After going out to lunch with my husband and going home for a 3 hour nap, I woke up and started  having REAL contractions!! My mom had stopped by and we continued to try to make cookies in between my contractions, but I got to a point where I couldn't concentrate any more.
I refused to go to the hospital this time and get sent home so I was determined to stay at home and labor as long as possible! So I labored on the yoga ball and in a warm bath (highly recommend!) for hours and did some walking around. Finally at 10 pm my husband made me call the doc and we ended up going in and were admitted right away, I was at 4 cm, 100% effaced! I had wanted to walk the halls and labor but my blood pressure had become elevated & I had to get my epidural a little sooner than I had planned, around 12:30 am. After the epidural since I couldn't  move I tried to sleep but with all the machines and my baby's heart beat monitor it was difficult. My labor had stalled out after the epidural and at 8 am I had my water broken, I was at 5 cm. by 10 am I was at 8 cm and felt a ton of pressure!! The anesthesiologist gave me a little booster on my epidural which made me fall asleep.
At 11:45 am I woke up with even more pressure and an urge to push!! I told my husband and he got the nurse in the room, she didn't seem too concerned but called the doctor in to check. When she checked me I could tell by the look on her face that she was surprised and she said "it's time to push!" And they started getting everything ready and my husband went to let our moms know it was time to come in. We had wanted them to be there for the birth. The doctor said "don't worry you don't have to hurry up and get them, usually with first time births you will push from 1-3 hours so you've got time!" My husband brought his mom in who had been in the waiting room. My mom had gone home and was taking her time coming back and stopped to get gas. Well much to my doctors surprise I only had to push for 5 contractions! By the second contraction you could already see his head, and once his head was a little bit out she asked me to reach down and feel his head. That was an awesome moment!! My mom finally showed up and a few minutes later my son was born! He was born at 12:32 pm Saturday Dec 5, after only 19 min of pushing! My mom got there just in time! She was so happy she made it! When they placed that little baby on me for skin to skin it was the happiest moment of my life! My husband and I were in tears he was so beautiful. Connor Michael born 12/5/15, the day before his due date, at 7 pounds 6 ounces, 20.75 inches long. The love of my life!! 💙👶🏼🍼
