Any home birth experiences? Preferably UK but any stories would be great.

Evening everyone, 
I'm considering a home birth this time but am a little apprehensive. This will be my second birth, my 1st birth was extremely quick, under 2 hours and without any warning! Midwife said she'd strongly recommend a home birth.

Any home birth experiences/stories would be appreciated.

I'm planning a homebirth for my second as well! You're lucky, in the UK people are generally more supportive, I think. Here in the US we only have a 4.6% home birth rate but it is slowly rising as more and more women and families continue to question the level of care they are receiving from the nation that spends the most on pregnancy/birth and yet is 50 in mortality rate for moms. 
Read as many books on home birth and natural birth as you can. I'm finding these extremely helpful. Also, there are hundreds of home birth stories online with pictures. 
I'm reading Birth Matters by Ina May Gaskin right now and I love it. It is a must read for all women.

Hey Stacey, I bet your question will get a lot more (positive) love and response in a different section. There is a natural pregnancy board and a holistic pregnancy board. Im.in the uk I have a friend who had a lovely peaceful homebirth before I had my 2nd daughter was born ,  but I personally would not advise them to anyone my 1st labour was also quick no issues except a few stitches but my 2nd was very distressing I had a retained placenta and ended with a blood transfusion I wont say anymore but there are many horror stories and always a chance something can go wrong had I not been at hospital I may not be here today with my girls . X
