Are the opks going positive again?

I know i should stop following a positive opk but this is during miss af with bfn...still no sign of af after 11days...

There's a few things that could possibly be going on... You could be pregnant, but it's unlikely that an OPK would pick it up before an hpt would. The reason being that OPK's can pick up on hcg as hcg and the luteinizing hormone (LH) are sister hormones, but OPK's are not nearly as sensitive at picking up on this as hpt's are, so theoretically, an hpt would turn positive long before an OPK would. However, stranger things HAVE happened, so I wouldn't completely rule that possibility out just yet. Another reason your OPK could have turned positive again is that you're simply just ovulating late, and you should definitely BD to cover all your bases. Another reason could be due to a hormonal imbalance. Certain conditions, such as PCOS, can cause an OPK to give inaccurate results. I don't mean to alarm you at all, but if you continue to miss your period and keep getting negative hpt's, it would be wise to see your doc and find out the root cause of the problem. Another reason this could have happened is because you're about to start your period. Just before the onset of menstruation, your body will have another brief surge in progesterone. This is why OPK manufacturers will tell you to discontinue testing once the LH surge is detected, as the second surge prior to menstruation can lead people to think they are ovulating again when they're really not. Out of all these possibilities tho, I really hope it's the first one and that you get your bfp soon! Fingers crossed that this has nothing but a happy ending for you!!

I've heard women get a surge right before their AF starts. I've never used OPKs though.
