Is it safe to volunteer at a hospital while pregnant?

Nurses work while pregnant all the time, right?

As a nurse, yes it CAN be safe, BUT there are certain type of patients you should not come into contact w/or go in their rooms. As nurses tho we can read their medical chart to know that. You can't. If it is not necessary I wouldn't  bc u are taking very big risks. If u still want to I suggest taking one of the hospitals online courses to educated urself on those types of patients & how to protect yourself. Remember you are still roaming the same halls & breathing the same air as all the sick ppl there. from personal experience they do not always put up the proper signs/precautions warning people. (Whether it fell off, they forgot, they moved to a diff room, or simply bc they don't have the test result back yet & later u find out uve been handling a patient all day who's on precautions.) It's dangerous. I would suggest finding a different site for the time being.
