Ex at the birth??

So he is the baby's Dad just wondering if this is a normal thing to let him be at the birth? If you are no longer together?

Yes he should be there , that's baby is made by the both of you an shares the same blood as the both of you. Regardless of the situation you shouldn't keep a man from his child. It will back fire on you one day when he's not there tho support that child an you won't have any help.

It's 100% up to YOU. Only you know your situation. If it's been amicable and polite and you're comfortable with him being there, then by all means allow him to be there. If it hasn't been and it's been stressful and unhealthy then you have every right to not allow him in the room. You have every right to have a stress free labor. Anyone that tells you different can kick rocks. My situation the father is not welcome in the delivery room because of his behavior and the stress he's caused me.

Absolutely not if you don't want him there. This is YOUR medical procedure, not his. You have who you want there only. He has no rights in there and the hospital will back you up. He can come in after, but birth is not his experience.

I'd say that depends on how he treats you and if he has been there throughout your pregnancy

I'm in a similar situation. I will call him when I go into labor and he can be at the hospital, but he will not be allowed in the room until after the baby is born. My mom and sister will be in the room with me during the birth. I haven't told him yet. He will be mad, but we can't even hold a simple conversation without him being rude. This is the best option for me because he will cause too much stress.

I'm not sure if you mean in the L&D room or the hospital in general. 
As long as he has not been abusive towards you in any way, then I think he should definitely be able to be a part of the day. However, he can be a part of the day and not be in the delivery room, if you don't feel comfortable with that. It's completely your choice on that, and it's whatever makes you feel comfortable. But, if he hasn't shown any signs of abuse or anything that would possible danger the baby, I believe he should be able to see the baby after birth and bond with him/her.

I didn't. He was at the hospital and in tbe room when I labored but i didn't want to be spread eagle and  pushing in front of someone I couldn't stand.

I would personally not have him in the room while you're labouring/giving birth - as he's an ex for a reason and that will bring up some tension, however small, and you need to be completely focused on yourself during that process, it's a huge job and you don't need any distractions! I'd have him come in right after the baby is born, though! :)
