Cam doctors be wrong about how far along you are?

I went to the doctors on Wednesday and they couldn't find a heatbeat so they scheduled an ultrasound the next day.  They found the heartbeat but said I was only 7w2d instead of 10w2d like I had originally thought and that's why they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler.  But if I'm only 7 weeks then I would have found out at 3w4d that I was pregnant.  This is my second pregnancy, first one was a blighted ovum, but the first time I didn't find out till I was 5 or 6 weeks along.  Is it possible the doctors are wrong about how far along I am?

I found out I was pregnant at 3w2d.

The earlier the US the more accurate. Babies look quite different between 7-10w.

If you were 10weeks your ultrasound would look much different.

This early on, they are more likely to be accurate. It's the later ultrasounds when baby is more developed that have more variation.

I think I'm 15 weeks, dr thinks 14😒 so it's kind of anyone's guess when it's early

I actually asked to for our baby to be remeasured because we were back dated too! It was about a week and half difference but I wanted to make sure if we made it to 40 weeks - they wouldn't think we were only 38. We were actively trying and charting everything so I was positive on our conception date by two days. After remeasuring at almost 10 weeks (doctor's date), we were changed to almost 12 weeks!

You can definitely find out at 3 weeks 4 days if your hormones are high enough! We found out at 3 weeks 6 days! But that was the first test I took, so it probably would have been positive a little sooner! And we knew when we got pregnant because we weren't trying. But based off of my lmp I would have been almost 2 weeks farther along. But I knew I wasn't!

They determine your edd based on the size of the baby. You may have ovulated a little later than you thought. It looks like they are right because you can see more definition at 10 weeks. I thought I was 9 when I found out I was 7, but I ovulated a little later than I thought.

They can be wrong. But they never really know. So many people in have known ended up being further along but didn't find out till the baby was much bigger. But I wouldn't worry about it. You have a baby on the way be excited :)

I found out I was pregnant around 3 week! What exactly makes you think they are wrong? Usually I believe they go by the size of the baby
