I've been getting cold sores since I was a child. I haven't had one in two and a half years then bam! got one yesterday. It started out small. I put ice on it and bought some abreva. Thought all was well but over night it got much worse. I called the dr today and they prescribed me valtrex. Has anyone ever taken this after the blister had already formed? If so, how well will it work?
