Does sex cause early period?

So I just got done having sex with my boo and was very confused because I started bleeding heavily and I'm not supposed to start my period for at least another week or two.

I originally thought that he tore something because I was experiencing pain and he is very large but realized that the blood is continuous, like my period and still has yet to stop.

Can having sex cause your period to come early?? Or is this something else?
