PCOS issues and symptom control. Help
PCOS has caused some embarrassing problems as well as debilitating issues. I am lucky in the fact that some of the visible symptoms aren't too severe. My weight isn't small, but I'm not huge. I'd say I'm only 5-10 pounds overweight because of it, and yes it is hard to lose it. I have stretch marks due to the bloating I deal with and it's also left over from weight loss. I have a miniscule amount of facial hair so I just pluck it, no big deal, most of the weird hair growth is on my toes (yes, I shave it) and I have thin fuzz that I shave from time to time on my belly. I'm self conscious and I realize I need to be more body positive towards myself but it's really hard to be. I know I can't help it, but it's still hard to feel sexy with PCOS.
Now for the debilitating issues. When I start my period, the cramps are incredibly excruciating to the point I physically cannot get off the bathroom floor. I get so sick and nauseous on my period that I vomit a lot. It's worse than the flu, and I can't even get medicine or disability for it because I don't have insurance. I'm not even sure that it's even related to my PCOS. The doctor diagnosed me with PCOS when I was 15, but the vomiting every menstrual cycle only began last summer and I'm 22 now. I have no idea what to do. I actually am more relieved when I miss a period than when I have one...
My husband and I want to try for a kid later on, but I'm not sure I won't be begging for a hysterectomy before then... I can't handle the debilitating pain. I know cramping is normal, but this isn't anywhere near normal....
