How and when did you decide to try for a baby?

I'm curious to hear others' stories about their time of trying for a little one. My husband and I decided on the spot, we were thinking this year we would like to start trying, but didn't strategically plan it. I had a co-worker who planned the exact day of her ovulation months before while she would be on vacation and what position to try for a boy. Surprise after our first spontaneous try I'm pregnant and a little nervous about it. So excited but are we ready?
