How badly did the depo shot hurt for you?

If you are/were a depo shot user please comment below 😊 I'm a big baby when it comes to shots. I can get my blood tested just fine, getting an IV in kinda hurts, but I remember regular shots being the worst! What would you compare the pain to?

Also, I've read that they usually administer it in your arm, butt or near your love handle. Where does your doctor administer it? And do any of the places hurt less than another? How long was the area sore for after you received the shot?

It hurts less than a flu shot. Lol. I barely felt it

It doesn't hurt at all. Sometimes later in the day, the spot where you got it will be a little tender or have a knot. You just massage it a little with fingers & you're good.

The butt is not a commonly used site anymore as it is too close to the siatica. The best trick for intramuscular injections is to focus some where else. Look away, focus on a piece of your skin and pinch it hard when they are injecting you. It confuses to brain. I usually choose an arm.
