What does early positive vs late positive mean?

I got a positive ( faint but deffenitly there) at 9dpo, and its been getting darker each day. Some people still test neg week into their late period. Why the difference? Does it mean anything?

Your HCG is high enough to trigger the test theirs isn't. They either ovulated late or they are producing the hormone at a different pace.

It depends on when you ovulate, some women think their period is late when it's really not because they ovulated later, and when implantation occurs. More uncommonly it's a case of slow rising hcg, though that can indicate the pregnancy may be unviable
