Flagyl in first trimester

I'm in week 4 of pregnancy and I'm so excited! However I have bv (bacterial vaginosis) and my doctor prescribed me flagyl (500 mg twice a day for seven days). Now that I'm pregnant they advised me NOT to take it, but I wanted to look up online the effects of bv in pregnancy. It causes a way higher risk of early miscarriages, late miscarriages, preterm labor, low birth weight, etc. really scary!!! The miscarriage risk is two or three times higher than normal with bacterial vaginosis. Flagyl says it's safe for pregnancy but to talk with your doctor if it's in your first trimester. Well I went to quite a few different sites and all of the doctors advice said to take it! Take the medicine because the benefits way outweigh the risks and it's rated a B medicine so it's safe for pregnancy. I called two different nurse hotlines and both said to take it. But neither of them could tell me the dosage to take! So I went online and looked some more and most people said they were prescribed 250 mg 3 times a day. Well I was prescribed 500 mg 2 times a day. But that was before we knew I was pregnant, so do you think I should break them all in half and do 250 three times a day? I've decided to take the medicine. My doctor isn't an obgyn and she wouldn't even talk to me on the phone she just told her nurse to tell me to not take the medicine and that's ALL they would say. But everything I've read online AND the obgyn nurses told me to take it! So my question to all of you is should I take 250 mg 3 times a day or 500 mg twice a day? Thanks for the advice.
