Membrane Sweep???

Is the membrane sweep optional at 38 weeks? Is it elective? Or does your OB have to see first if it can be done ?

They offer it when you get your cervix checked for dilation which is around 38 weeks. You have to be at least 1 cm or they won't do it though.

It depends on what your doctor believes/practices. But I asked my doctor and he agreed to do the sweep at 38 weeks.  I went in and couldn't get it done cause I'm really thinned out but not dilated!
