Worth it? Input please

I have a friend of a friend who is getting rid of a high chair and a pack and play.  She's asking $25 for the high chair, $50 for the pack and play.  I've talked to a handful of my friends with the majority saying I should pass on both.  The high chair has fabric and they said it was a pain in the butt to have to constantly clean it vs a plastic one that I could just wipe down.  They said I could easily find a brand new pack and play for not much more $ and the used one for $50 was overpriced.  They also suggested I hold off as these would be good gift items for my baby shower.  Thoughts?
