I'm just making this post to remind parents of the extremely important choice they have to vaccinate their children. Coming from someone who is working on a doctorate in microbiology/immunology I can say that the benefits far outweigh the very unlikely risks. Most of the time I work behind a lab bench but today I visited a 7 month old in our hospital that is dying from the measles because he is too young to receive the vaccine against it. Choosing not to vaccinate DOES NOT only effect your child, it effects every child they come in contact for the rest of their life and it effects the herd immunity of our society all together.
