Marriage & New Job Schedule?

Question

So I just got hired for an awesome job that pays well.. I really can't turn it down. However, I've been given 2 schedule options and have no clue what to do as they both give me very little time to spend with my husband compared to my current schedule :( we've been married for 7 months now so still fairly new and not wanting to ruin it..

He has Tues/Wed/Sat off

My options are:
A) 5day; Tues-Sat 8hr shifts 230-1030pm (Sun/Mon off)
B) 4day; Wed-Fri 8hr shifts 230-1030pm with a double on Saturday 7am-11pm (Sun/Mon/Tues off)

I really am completely torn on what to choose.. essentially if I do the 5 day schedule I will get 3 days in which I see him only in the morning/early afternoon. The 4 day schedule gives me 1 full day and 1 half day with him..

Sooo..if you were in this situation, what would you choose?

Just looking at that Saturday in the second option makes me squirm. 7am to 11pm?! Fuck that! The break you get in the middle of likely spend napping.
Option A seems consistent and doable. You may not get a day off with him, but his or your hours might change in the future. Good luck.

I won't tell you which is better, but my husband works a rotating 12 hour shift and he gets 1 day off during the week and every other weekend.  Which those weekends are when he gets his son so there's no alone time realky. I work a mon-fri 8-4. So it's very rare that we each get a day off and no kids.

I can tell you that we've grown to really appreciate and make the most of those rare days. And not only that but I genuinely miss him all the time. And that makes me love him all the more.

I've been in this situation.  My husband got a great job but we would only ever spend the mornings with eachother because he would come home after I was already asleep.  It was hard but the pay was worth it. We struggled for 4 years to make it work until I found a better job thst made up the difference and he could finally get a job doing what he loved but it paid less. Now we have the same schedule,  better jobs, happier lives but we sacrificed. The point is you have to make it a point to focus on eachother when you r together.  No phones.  No friends. Eachother. Otherwise someone will feel neglected and terrible things happen.

In my opinion the schedules suck in general. You'd never be available like virtually ANY evening during the week. Do you want kids? Think about more than just the money when reconsidering the new job. Depends on how much MORE your getting paid.  But if you'd basically be gone every evening until late and never see him.. Think about husband... House keep up... Children.... There's a lot.

Maybe I read into it too much, but just the fact that you think a new job could "ruin it"- it being your new marriage- makes me sad. Maybe there's more there to look into. If I'm bring presumptuous then I apologize! Best of luck with the whole situation!

Why would you even need to spend every waking moment with him? You both have Sunday and Monday off anyway and can hang out in the mornings. I'd absolutely take the five day option, I would love that alone time just for myself😍
