Hired while pregnant??

Question

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and have a very stressful job I'm trying to leave. I found a comparable position in an office in exited about, but I'm visibly showing and am worried they will take one look at me and laugh. Has anyone ever been hired while pregnant? What do I say about it when I go to my interview next week?

In my opinion, their main worry will be that you will quit as soon as u have your baby.Or if it's a small biz,that your just working to get insurance.My hubby does hiring for a business,and these are things he tells me:) Let them know your future plan maybe? Best of luck!!

I got hired at 28 weeks wearing a hoodie cause it was cold.....and to hide the belly lol I got the job and they just found out on the first day of work. Im on day 3 and have been offered a management position for when I come back from medical leave

I think the best thing you can do is just let them know how seriously you take the job and it would actually be a good time to talk about leave. As long as the company is prepared to have you gone and know for how long ahead of time it shouldn't be a problem. Plus it would be less stressful to get adjusted to the new job now rather than wait to find a new one after the baby's born

I was interviewing 18-20 wks and definitely showing a bit. I didn't get offered any jobs even though I was very (if not overly at times) qualified for the positions. I think it's hard on each end. I can understand from the potential employers pov as well. So I just stopped what felt like wasting my time and am just sticking it out. I'll look for something after babe is born or stay at home for a bit.

I am a teacher and was hired for my first job at 24-26 weeks. Didn't tell them I was expecting until I got my first paycheck though.

It's only a few more months stick it out if you can, there's every chance the new place won't take you on. You're going to be needing a lot of time off

I was hired at 15w but i wasnt showing yet. I did let them know at 19w and they took it very well, my job is not very physically demanding though
