When to start pumping?

So I had my little boy Thursday night. He's gotten the hang of feeding very well. I just want to know when to start trying to pump because he eats a lot!

If your milk has come in pump away!! Lol just make sure he has a good latch down cause introducing a bottle could confuse him. Good luck!

You shouldn't pump, unless it is to relieve pressure and even then you could hand express, until at least 6 weeks when your supply is or should be stabilized. Having too much milk is just as bad a problem as having too little.

After each feed I pump for 10 - 15 minutes and store that breast milk.  I get 1/2 - 3 oz total each time.  I get 3 oz in the morning and then it decreases to 1/2 - 1 oz the rest of the day. I put a warm pack on my breasts when I pump for both comfort and to help get more milk.
