Do you think $2,500 is a decent budget for a baby shower?

This budget will have to include a venue(up to 100pp), dessert table, table props & decor, mom & dad to be chair/couch rental, possible Dj & possible henna artist. Do you think this figure is right on target for what we want or not enough? 
(Keep in mind, I'm in the NY area)

I personally think that's way more than you should have spent for a baby shower...but if you have the money specifically for that and need it for nothing else then I don't see why not.

Screw the baby shower haha I'd take that money and buy what I need.  I personally won't be having one not because I can't afford it but because we a frugal and spend wisely.  With a baby coming we don't see a logic in spending money to receive gifts.  However if you have it abundantly and can spend it I think it's a decent amount.

if i goin to spend 2,500 on a party i prefered spend in my baby shoppings to get everyting she need i tink is too much money the babyshower is to get gift for baby is not to spend too much money

Considering your location and number of people I think this is a good budget. Not sure if you will have other food other than a dessert table but that is where you will spend a bulk of your money in addition to your venue.

The venue could be free if you do it at a church and cut out DJ and just have your tunes going on your phone. Sounds like a great event but really expensive and I'm all for saving money for a rainy day.

I feel that is an excessive budget but considering you are in NY and I'm in LA.... I'm sure it's way different. We used a local city recreation center. The room held 80 people and the whole event cost us $500
