Baby never had sugar

I saw a story on facebook about 13 month old who has never had sugar. No processed foods, no bread or any carbs of the sort, no sweets, nothing. Strictly protein and vegetables. The mother eats strictly protein and vegetables and is a fitness guru. She says that she will not force the lifestyle on her daughter once she gets old enough to make her own decisions.

Do you think this perfectly fine and healthy? Or do you think children should be able to live a little and enjoy a sweet snack every once in a while?
