Good police experiences (long)

I have seen some hate on police officers on here lately and I just want to start a positive thread for those of us who appreciate all the good police officers that do a good job and take their role in protecting us seriously! I'll share mine:
I was speeding one night going 80 on the freeway that's normally a 60mph limit. It was foggy and raining so I didn't even realize I was going that fast and I was coasting down a slight hill. I got pulled over and it started pouring. He came up to my car and I had my window already unrolled and I knew I must have been speeding. He asked "do you know why I pulled you over ma'am?" I said "yes I am so sorry I was speeding!" He laughed and smiled and said "you sure we're! Are you in a hurry to get somewhere?" And I said "no sir I'm just on my way to my sisters house! I didn't realize I was going so fast, I'm in no hurry at all!" He laughed again and asked for my license and registration. I couldn't find my registration and he said "that's fine this will do for now, let me know if you find it though." And he went to his car and came back with a ticket. He asked "this is the first time you've ever been pulled over?" I said "yes sir I normally don't drive so crazy!" He said "well I'm sorry ma'am but I do have to give you a ticket, it was just too fast." I said "no it's fine, I deserve it!" And he showed me where on the paper I can go online to pay it or if I want to fight it I could. He said "have a good evening and be careful, it's slippery!" And left. I drove off feeling great because I expected him to be mad and scary and he wasn't. He stood out in the rain telling me I could fight the ticket and apologizing to me for ticketing me and telling me to be safe and have a good evening. He seemed like a genuinely good guy.
What are your positive police encounter stories?
Ps: I'm not saying all cops are good. Some don't do their job right and I'm not downplaying the police brutality that's happened. But they definitely aren't all bad.
