Doula ?

How does anyone feel about having a doula throughout & while your birthing? I was going to consider one or would it be a waste of time & money?

If you look online you can find low cost doulas or doulas in training. The ones training are free. There are also some that do it on a sliding scale. 1% of your annual income. They are great. They also have been known to speed up the birthing process and they have natural solutions such as pressure points and massages during birth to reduce pain.

I hired one. She has some amazing reviews and 29 years of experience. My doctor told me that when you are  in labor, you get whatever doctor and nurses are on call, and doula is great as a labor coach.

We hired our doula as soon as I found out I was pregnant. She came highly recommended and her schedule fills rather quickly so I wanted to make sure we had a slot. She has been wonderful, I can ask her any question day or night and she is always so supportive and I know that the information she provides is accurate . I know she is going to be a great benefit to my hubby and I when baby comes! I am also planning on a natural birth and have very specific goals/plans for right after baby so it will be nice to have another advocate

We decided to hire one. My husband gets nervous and panics when I'm not feeling well. And I know during birth I won't know how to coach him through or what to try. Im trying for a natural birth so even spending a couple hundred dollars is less than I'd pay for a hospital stay and an epidural.

There are some that are inexpensive, all of them dont cost alot of money. Well here i dont think they do. 400 dollars for this one doula i spoke with the other day & she asked for a 150 deposit & said i didnt have to pay it right at the moment as long as everything is paid before my due date (Sep5) which is a loooong time to me lol i think thats pretty good!
