Preterm labor story!

Whitney
First time mom, due date was 2/23/16 and our son was born 1/27. January was a roller coaster for my pregnancy, 1/16-1/18 I was admitted into L&D 2cm, & apparently I was having contractions but I felt more like I was getting my period, I had lost my mucus plug (which I was told it usually regenerates BUT since my cervix was dilated it would keep falling out) they stopped contractions and continued to monitor my cervix the entire weekend, was sent home that Monday morning with instructions to not go walk the mall or work out (but no bedrest) just take it easy.
1/25: follow up appt at OB & ultrasound. Cervix was the same as when I left L&D and my OB said "I believe we will make it full term doesn't seem like anything has changed and everything looks good"...
1/26: around 8pm I felt a hot flash, became nauseous and faint so I drank some water and laid in bed. Started to feel better and my S/O got home from work around midnight. I woke up with period like cramps again and went to the bathroom only to find mucus again! (Was told before leaving the hospital that's no cause for concern again mucus plugs can fall early and regenerate themselves being my cervix was open it was not attaching so therefore it was falling out)
1/27: from 12am to 2:30am I was tossing and turning with these cramps couldn't fall back asleep and I was monitoring the mucus with a pad in case. Figured I would call OB in the am if it didn't subside. 3am EVERYTHING STOPPED, every ache and pain and I fell back asleep...
3:30am CRAMP & GUSH ... WATERBROKE!!
4am L&D (3cm 70%)
6am Epidural
11am (9cm 90%)
12:50pm Pushing began
Hour and 10 min later
Jonathan Robert was born (6 lb 15 oz, 20 inches long) 4 weeks premature
Cord was wrapped and he was blue in the face
Took a few seconds to get his breathing going and they noticed his breathing wasn't right.
They brought him to the NICU where he stayed for 10 days for respiratory distress, antibiotics (we didn't have my GBS results) and hypoglycemia.
Broke my heart but I had to be strong and keep in mind he was in the best place he could be with the best care!
He's been home 2 weeks now and we are so very in love!
Today 2/20 it's hard to believe I would still be pregnant right now!
