Probably a stupid question buuuut...

I've always wondered..
once you do a pregnancy test and its positive, what do you do next? obviously after telling your partner or whoever.
Like do you make a doctors appointment and be like "I'm pregnant" or do they take bloods to double check? or what? idk 🙄
I probably sound soooo stupid so I'm sorry!! obviously my first time haha.

I don't understand confirming a positive test at the doctors office. Like someone else said, a positive is a positive! I just started making sure I was eating right etc and researching midwives in my area. I toured a birth center and then had my first appointment with my midwife at 11 weeks. Trust your body, you don't need to run to a doctor the second you see that positive line 😋

After my first positive I waited two weeks and took another then I made an appointment with my ob/gyn and she took blood and did a urine test

I immediately researched OB doctors in my area, found one I thought I'd like and called her office and told them I had a positive pregnancy test & I wanted to establish care with her, and they scheduled me an appointment for the next day. They asked my medical history, my husbands, family history, took a urine sample & sent me to the lab for blood work! I didn't have an ultrasound until the following appointment.

I made a doctor's appointment, since I have a thyroid condition and it's very important to check hormone levels to prevent miscarriages or other complications.

Call your Drs office/obstetrician tell them you took a test it came up positive. They will draw blood to confirm and go from there. You can tell your partner your pregnant tho but try not to tell a lot of people until later on. Congrats and good luck!

I went to the hospital after just so they could confirm my pregnancy. Just tell them you received a positive pregnancy and want to double check to be sure. They give you papers confirming that you are. After that I waited and revealed my pregnancy to my family.
