I already have six kids and a big yes to pacifiers. With number one I didn't Ilinteodice a pacifier or bottle till she was a month old because the doctors said she'd get "nipple confusion". Yeah. She wasn't confused. She knew the real thing and the fake and would never take anything hit the real thing. Was very difficult to be able to leave her for very long without her screaming. With numbers two through six I introduced both bottle and pacifier immediately and they all learned to take them. Suddenly I could use babysitters and life was so much better!

Another pro with pacifiers is that they will find something to soothe themselves, whether it's you, a pacifier or their own fingers. They don't always need more food and so mommy isn't always the best option for soothing them. Fingers you can't take away either and then have to break the finger sucking habit. Pacifiers you can control.

Some say it reduces the risk of SID's . So I say yes
