Spray tanning safe?

Is it safe to spray tan or use sunless tanning solutions while pregnant?

Your skin is the largest organ of your body. Everything it comes in contact with, whether it's cream applied to it or the air that surrounds you, it absorbs it all and puts in your blood stream. If makeup, hair products and cleaning supplies can be toxic to your baby, why would something that changes the color of your skin for days be any safer?

I used tan lotion the whole way through my pregnancy with my first and she's completely fine no problems at all..will be doing the same with baby #2 midwife said it was fine, the only thing with a spray tan is breathing in the chemicals xx

I have a friend that said that her dr said it was ok to get a spray tan when she was prego

It's not so much the dye that's put on your skin, but the fda is actually concerned about what you breathe in when you get a spray tan. I'm not touching it until they say it's ok. It's just not worth it. My baby is more important to me than my tan.

I'd wait until I was out of my first trimester... That's the time when baby is most sensitive

As long as there is adequate air circulation I think it would be ok. I'm using jergens natural glow and it's a pain to apply all over. I stopped getting a stand up tan once a week. I just didn't want to get too hot, that was my only reason. Wish I could afford a spray tan!!!

I wouldn't have them done all the time. I had one when I was pregnant with my son for my mum's wedding and he's fine

I personally wouldn't. There's all kinds of chemicals that you could possibly inhale in.
