Serious RANT. Don't give me your negativity!!!

I am absolutely livid!  I was at the store today with my 2 month old daughter. I was carrying her because she received shots and was fussy. Plus I wasn't shopping for much so holding her wasn't a problem.
But back to my story. I was minding my business and a lady with a toddler maybe around 3 approached me and just said typical baby compliments. Like how she is cute and blah blah. And asked if she was a normally fussy baby and I explained to her that my daughter just recieved some shots and was fussy.
And she said "that's why I'm glad I didn't vaccinate my child".
Then has the nerve to be upset because I walked away.
And said I was disrepecting her right to make the decision not to vaccinate.
And I replied
Well I have the right to keep your child who could be infected with something away from my child who isn't old enough to be vaccinated for.
Was I disrespectful?
So bye. Rant over!

I probably would have done the same thing. It's not fair to your innocent daughter to potentially be exposed to something she didn't ask for just because of that mother's choices. Kudos to you, mama!

I think you were in the right. She made a smart ass comment so good for you for standing your ground!

Eh. Honestly either side could've been disrespectful. Walking away is but so is making a comment on someone else's parenting when they believe they are doing the best for them. She wasn't wrong to state her opinion, however she has zero reason to be upset that you removed yourself from a potential verbal argument. It's 50/50. If I was in a weird mood I would've taken her out with my words but sometimes I'm too happy to even consider what they said relevant to me. She should've never even said anything about the shots without looking to stir up trouble.

I would've said the same thing. Your child's health more important than that ladies opinion.

Good for you! I would have knocked her teeth in by now. I absolutely hate when someone tries to throw their decisions and opinions on me as if I have to follow them. Gosh. This post is already making me mad lolYou handled it perfect, you're the more mature one and she can have all the fun in the world when her kid gets whatever it wasn't vaccinated for 😊
