I started having contractions on Sunday 21st
t 5am, very mild, they lasted all day and got to tighter contractions at 4pm, then my water broke at 10pm and after that my contractions were unbearable for a constant 2 hours, the nurse at assessment said I wasn't in established labour though so I was sent home to wait it out till contractions got worse as I started to be able to manage them with painkillers, had these constant quite painful contractions for 23 hours then they started to come less so I had to go in to be induced as they can't let it go 24hours without inducing when your waters have gone, I was 4cm by this point so the all day contractions had done something, I had an epidural as it was too painful once the hormone drip started at 2am. By 10.30am I was ready to push, pushed for 2 hours but she wasn't moving as her head was to the side rather than up or down, doctor tried manually manipulating but she wouldn't budge so had to go to theatre 😞 I was well out of it on has and air but remember thinking I'd lost her or something. And I was devastated that I couldn't push her out. When I got to theatre I had to be completely numb just incase they needed to do a c-section but the foreceps manged to turn her and she was out within 5 pushes after that. She was so bruised though and really sore and swollen on the back of her head from where I'd been in labour so long. But I'm so glad she's here and would deffo do it all over again 😊
