Anyone else decided AGAINST induction?

Question

I'm 39 + 5 days pregnant and have recently decided against my OBs recommendation for induction in favor of going into labor naturally. Although, I have been deemed a "high risk" pregnancy, I have been closely monitored and thankfully I and  the baby are doing perfectly (as evidenced by regular NSTs, BPPS, and weekly monitoring) fine. So when my doctor suggested inducing for no other reason than he felt that my pregnancy should come to a close, I decided against it. Now I'm dealing with significant push back from my OB. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

If there's a health risk then the doctor may know a little bit more than you think you know your body. Ive seen women almost kill their babies for wanting their own way instead of listening to doctors. Just be smart about it

I see this happen so much. Good for you! Why were you deemed high risk? And could I ask how your doctor has started putting even more pressure on you for this?

I've planned to be entirely drug free with my pregnancy. This is my first, and I feel so in tune with my body like never before, and I'm looking forward to trusting the natural process with no manipulation.

Good for you momma! Follow your gut because you know your body. Inducing you might even put you over the edge! I'd there's nothing wrong and both baby and you are doing well go for it!

My son was on the day they were going to induce. I was 41 weeks 1 day. He decided to start coming into the world 3 hours before I was scheduled for induction.

My dr wouldn't even talk about inducing me until 41 weeks. He said unless there's a real reason then he isn't doing it. He was surprised I made it past 40 weeks, let alone to 41. So after 40 weeks he scheduled an induction incase I got to 41 weeks. A lot of Drs are like that tho. Idk why. My friend was due the same day I was and her dr was going on vacation so she induced her a week early! And that was a disaster.

My doctor wanted to induce on my due date and I told her I wanted to wait for it to happen naturally she didn't seem happy. Then she scheduled it for a week after my due date but I still didn't want to get induced so I didn't show :x yes that was bad haha. So she made me go in the following Monday for a NST and ultrasound and said there was less fluid which I don't think was true but whatever she pretty much forced me to go that day even though I had finally said okay I will schedule the induction for tomorrow just so I can be prepared mentally but nope she said I HAD to go in that day so I did :( I wonder what my babies real birth date would have been if she came naturally guess I'll never know

I wish I could tell my oh no but he said 36weeks is as far as he's letting me go if things go how they are now
