Swabbing cervix while pregnant.

When I went into see my doctor last week for a yeast infection, she looked up there to swab and make sure that it was yeast and not a UTI or BV. She also swabbed for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Both came back as negative. My question is, is that normal for a doctor to swab up there on your cervix when pregnant? Is it going to hurt anything? I've heard of women not getting a pap smear while pregnant, but not sure if this technically counts as one.
