Has anyone on here ever experienced an urinary tract infection? How did you know you had it? Can it be mistaken for a STI?

Also a way to tell besides having the feeling of having to pee every 2 minutes....this may sound weird but look at your pee after you go. If you have a UTI your pee will be cloudy and have a weird smell. If you catch it early enough you can drink cranberry juice or take cranberry pills. There are also pain relievers but be careful of those because it will dye your pee bright orange

I would want to be every 5 mins or sometime less but nothing comes out it hurts to pee and uncomfortable down there go to the doctor they will test you

Went to pee every 3 minutes and my abdomen got very hard and uncomfortable. Luckily, did not experience burning pee. Bought over the counter medicine and it KILLED my stomach. My meds also came with a testing strip to confirm UTI. It was like $8 at CVS. Healed on its own after that, couldn't take the full dose. But go to the doctor if you feel you need to, they could get bad.

You feel like you need to pee constantly. But you don't actually have to pee that much. It could hurt or burn. Cranberry juice helps or cranberry tablets

^^^ I've grown up with them all my life then almost had kidney and liver failure. UTI's are painful and I always went to the bathroom after every time I peed. Sounds weird but once I got up, I just had to go again. There most likely will be spotting of blood in your urine, that is normal don't freak out if that happens. I got one about a month ago after about 6 months of it finally stopping after 16 years. I've gotten tubes and straws in my arms every other week for 6 weeks. Cranberry juice never helped me ever but maybe mine were more severe. Drink a ton of water and get a strong antibiotic.

I grew up with them, it hurts/burns to pee, you pee every 3 minutes, if you never had it I'd go to doctor. The last time I ended up with a very bad kidney infection before I even knew I had one, ended up in the hospital.was bad enough they doped me up on morphine so bad I couldn't stay away longer than 5 minutes. I take cranberry pills every day to keep them away.

I ended up in hospital with kidney infection and blood bacteria so if you think you have one, see a doctor now!
