Three soft markers for DS! Help!
I went for my 20 week ultrasound to find out the gender of my baby and found that our baby has three soft markers for chromosome problems. One is a small cyst of spinal fluid on its brain, the second is a small calcium deposit on its heart, and the third is that his intestines showed up brighter on the US than normal.
Apparently these things separately aren't a big deal at all but together they are a red flag.
My issue is that we had testing done that showed our chances of having a baby with a disability was 1 in 10,000 and now it's 1 in 588! I have been freaking out and I was hysterical all day after finding out. I've sent off blood work for testing and should receive the results by mid next week but they told me to schedule a level 2 US in four weeks, I guess it's a good sign that it isn't urgent enough to come back sooner?
Has this happened to anyone else? Did they resolve by themselves?
I still can't believe my luck in TTC first a MC last summer and now this... I am only 24! This is not supposed to happen!
