Before water breaking is there pain?

Did any of u mommies have any pain before your water breaking or did it just happen?

I also had no contractions beforehand. Woke up to pee and realized it was my water and not urine lol I head a steady leak for a few hours after it "broke" had to continue to change my underwear and pants lol my contractions started about 20 minutes after the initial realization, they were not consistent even after my water broke so if that happens to you, take your time getting to the hospital unless you're gbs positive of course.

I didn't have contractions before mine broke. They didn't start until about 30-45 minutes later. That day I did feel sore in my vaginal area.

Contractions are usually happening before the water breaks. But does water breaking itself hurt? No. There are no nerve endings in the sac that's breaking. But the contractions surrounding the break can/do hurt.

With my first I didn't have contractions for a couple hours afterwards. I was out shopping when it broke. Only thing was my back was killing me! I was leaning on the cart to push it.
