Hi! I'm new here... And just have to post! My name is Qristina and I'm an older mom (41) and have been ttc for over a year now. I already have a newly-minted 13 yr old (aaahhh teenage angst!)

I actually miscarried last April and it was a horrific experience. Looking back I should have realized something was off - I got a strong positive 5 days before my period, and tested twice more, each time the line becoming fainter. Thought nothing of it. Went to the nurse at my work to verify and again super faint positive. I started light bleeding at 5 weeks. No hcg progression. But my doctor tried progesterone which prolonged the inevitable by another 5 weeks.

So that was really rough for me. I almost gave up trying. But we started again in August last year. I was beginning to get frustrated pretty much hearing the clock ticking and decided this past cycle to try soy isoflavones and progest cream.

Period was supposed to come on the 19th Feb, tested on the 20th got a negative so I figured the soy messed things up by a week (as you take them for 5 days). A week past af due date and super light spotting once. I was almost certain it was another false alarm and decided to wait to test as long as I could. With my boobs getting more and more tender and nausea worse and worse I tested finally this morning and YAY!! Strong immediate BFP!!

According to calcs I'm 6 weeks, already further than last time. Nausea/dizzy is so bad today and I'm honestly elated. That means hormones are going like they should be (and I also read last year that morning sickness lowers the chance of miscarriage).. I had nothing last time. No sickness or tender anything.

I'm waiting to call the doctor until next week, unless morning sicknesses gets out of hand (had hyper emesis with #1). I just feel if it's not going to work out I want nature to take care of it. I don't want scan after scan and blood tests on top of blood tests. I guess I want to just... Wait.

Anyway. I have decided not to tell anyone yet. Not until 20 week scan (yes. Another 14 weeks) because everyone knew last time and it was awful. But I just NEEDED to talk about this... I'm so excited but scared and happy and nervous!!!
