Commitment from my boyfriend

So we are both in our 20's and we've been talking about our future and things and we're going on this big vacation in July for our birthdays and 1 year anniversary and the other day on the phone he mention how he might propose to me then. Is it wrong that I got nervous about it and didn't know (still don't) if I would say yes. I know we haven't been with each other long but he's seriously the only guy i could ever picture myself when I'm older I just don't know if it's the right choice. Plenty of my friends think he's the wrong guy for me because we had a rocky start and things are just starting to look up. Any advice would help!!
