How old are you supposed to start going to the gynecologist at? Should I go if I'm 17?

I started at 17, to get my papsmear and all those sorts of lady things.

It's recommended you get a Pap smear when you turn 21, or within the first year of being sexually active. Whichever comes first :) you can definitely go earlier as well if you want!

Start by having yearly physicals with your family doctor. He/she can determine if you need to go to a gyno. Sometimes they can do Pap tests themselves and help answer any birth control/sex related questions you might have.

Any age really is what I thought if your were having sex. But maybe some doctors are different.

I think it depends on your OB. My doctor has always told me to go at 18 and once a year afterwards. I'm 19 now. I had a baby though so I had a ton of paps done already lol

You actually don't need to go or get a pap until 22. Unless you're having vaginal issues
