Threatened miscarriage- What to expect?

I was in the hospital over the weekend with a "threatened miscarriage" which I am positive is, in fact, a miscarriage, but won't be determined until a second round of bloodwork. I have heard all the stories about how not to go by what the ER Doctor says and that some people end up being fine, but I just don't see a possible way that It's going to turn out that way for me. So I'm not looking for those stories.

I'm specifically looking for what the next steps might be. I only measured 4 weeks and 5 days, but was suppose to be 6 weeks 4 days along. I know that I ovulated late and think that that could be the reason for the loss. Anyway, will my uterus clear itself out naturally or will I have to have a procedure of some kind? When should I expect to stop bleeding? It's been spotting besides on day of full bleeding so far. When will my next period show? And how long do doctors say to wait to start trying again? I had a miscarriage 8months ago I started with spotting went to the er I had a scan I was supposed to be nine weeks I measured at 6weeks 6days at that point they couldn't pick up fetal tones on the baby they said it might be to early to tell that I should wait.  I went home and that weekend I felt like I was in labor!!  It hurt a lot I tried everything for pain relief. I have a high tolerance I couldn't take the pain . I bleed a lot I had to have a blood transfusion. I'm traumatized by the experience...I wish we Could raise a fund to study why misscariages happen: (

I had a missed miscarriage (baby stopped growing at 8w6d when I should've been about 12 weeks). No progress was being made in that time the baby had stopped growing (no bleeding only light cramping) so I asked to be prescribed cytotec which induces cramping. It was about 8 hours of really heavy bleeding followed by period like bleeding for about a week. Then light bleeding for about 2.5 weeks after that. As soon as I stopped bleeding, my husband and I returned to having sex. He was pulling out though because I was scared of getting an infection. I got a normal period 3 weeks after my bleeding completely stopped (husband then stopped pulling out) and then I found out I was pregnant again after that! Keep your head up! It sucks and I'm so sorry just know you're not alone! (I'm pretty sure I hit all of your questions but if you have anymore please ask!)

I went in for bleeding twice! I'm now carrying a beautiful boy at about 22 weeks pregnant!

I had a miscarriage 3 years ago... I went through it naturally! No meds at all. The pain lasted only for 2 hours... I felt like I was in labor and when I got to the hospital I wanted to pee so bad but by the time I pulled down my pants I had to hurry and get the garbage can because I was bleeding every where.... I seen the little thing come out as well 😞😞 .... But now I'm pregnant 12 weeks... I had lots of bleeding in the beginning and pai ! Really thought I was going to go through it again! And look at me now ! Still going at it and will keep going! Be positive girl.. You never know!

I had a natural MC at 5 weeks and I just passed it myself! Go back tomorrow go make sure my levels are back to normal! We plan on not preventing after my levels go back to 0!

I passed naturally. It was like a really bad period. I did not need to take any pain meds (I have a high pain tolerance though) and found it helpful to use a heating pad and read stupid romance novels. I was just under 6 weeks.

I had a threatened miscarriage, which turned out to be one. But they told me it was incomplete, meaning my body wouldn't pass it. I had to have a  d&c to remove everything. I was also like 7 weeks and some days, supposed to be 8 almost 9. I'm sorry your going through this.

I miscarriage naturally at 5 weeks 5 days..
It was horrible because you see alot of the tissues and there's alot of bleeding. I blood for 8 to 9 days.. pains in the beginning was pretty bad.. im so sorry luv

With my first pregnancy, I went to the emergency room for horrible cramping and spotting, they told me it was a threatened miscarriage. He is now 20 months old.

On the other hand, when I had my miscarriage in October, they told me everything looked fine, and the only way they would know is if my levels went down. They did. I was six weeks when the baby stopped growing, 8 weeks when I found out, and 10 weeks when it finally happened naturally. It was painful. I would opt for the medication/D&C if I could go back. I bled for about 2 weeks, and four weeks after the bleeding stopped I had my first period. It was emotionally draining waiting for it to happen, especially because people at work had known about the pregnancy (I have a blabber mouth) so I had to inform everyone I told about it. I hope that this isn't a miscarriage for you, I'll be praying for you, but if it is, I am so so sorry for your loss.
