Lost check!

So I left a check with my employers to file for direct deposit, its blank, no signature no anything. And I left work, and my manager said she would not touch it and that she would wait for me to come into work the following day (I opened the store) to file the direct deposit slip. WELL I go into work and my check is now missing. My manager said she has not touched it, and apparently no one has seen it. I don't know the number on the check, I'm trying to find the set that my bank printed out specifically for me to get my direct deposit. I have no other checks, but my job is basically saying I'm SOL. Can I call hr about this issue once I call my bank and figure something out? Because there were only 2 people working after I left my check there, and one of them was my manager. So, either my check was stolen or someone is lying about moving my check.

I just don't want to get fucked over because of something this stupid.
