Being called fat?

Question

My husband has "jokingly" called me fat, fatty, or big as a house since my weight gain with this pregnancy.... I try to explain that he shouldn't or that it's not funny, but it doesn't seem to be soaking in. Has anyone else dealt with this? How would you feel and react to this situation?

That's not very nice.  I would probably be pretty upset with my husband over that. I would probably ask him just how much experience he has in growing a human inside his body. None? Oh, because he has no uterus? Hmmmm. No uterus, no opinion. ♡

That's simply disrespect. Plain and simple. There are other things to joke about, and I'm not sure I see the point to call your partner fat. Especially since you expressed dislike for the names/comments and he still does it, just disrespectful.

I'm 16 weeks and my husband has said this as well. I KNOW he's joking when he says it, and he would say stuff like this pre-pregnancy and it never bothered me, but now it does! Every time I've asked him not to do it again and told him it's not funny anymore. Last week I was all emotional and started bawling when he said it. He hasn't said it again since lol.

My husband does... it doesn't bother me because he has a way of making me feel gorgeous even when he calls me chunky or whatever. Strange, because of anyone else comments on my size I get so pissed off! People need to realize that's not okay (except, I suppose, my husband because I'm a little nutty)

Don't let it bother you although that is easier said than done. I'm sure it's joking gone to far. Don't let it put you down. Stay positive, of course it's pregnancy weight!! Ugh I'm sure the comments are annoying and repetitive but keep your mind off his jokes because you know you and baby are beautiful.
