Having non-painful contractions?

I'm already 1cm dilated and 25% effaced, I had contractions yesterday when I got checked but it was mostly in my back, now today I've noticed my belly getting really tight. Are those more contractions? It doesn't hurt its just my stomach tightening.

The first few contractions are nothing. It's the closer to birth that gets ugly. I mangled my poor hubby's hand and swore enough at him to make the saltiest sailor blush.

They're called Braxton Hicks. Your body is just preparing for labor. They get worse if you're dehydrated or stressed. When it's the real deal, trust me you'll know!
