Didn't get nuchal scan??

Question

I went to my doctor for the first time at 13 weeks. She gave me a referral for an ultrasound to determine gestational age but nothing about a nuchal screening? How did others get this?

I'm not getting an ultrasound for that but will be having blood work in 4 weeks at my next appointment to determine if our baby has Down syndrome. I'll be a little over 18 weeks then.

I'm considered high risk due to my age and other issues so that's why my doc offered it to me. If you aren't high risk there really isn't a need to take it other than another chance to see the baby.

Nuchal screen has to be done by 13w6d. If you want it you need to request it asap. It's definitely not required but it's an extra ultrasound to see the babe!
