Anyone not having dad in the birth room?
My husband has always been a little skeptical about the female anatomy? He acts like it is black magic sometimes. In our regular life, I just laugh and blow it off.
When his little brother called us and told us his wife was in labor with their first, my husband said to him "my best advice is stay up near her head. Don't go anywhere else. You will see things that ruin it for the rest of your life."
He has a child from his first marriage, so I asked him if this had happened to him for him to know this. He said he never left the shoulders with that birth. This advice was given to him by a coworker and he took it.
So I have pretty much decided I don't want him in the room. I told him why as well. I told him I couldn't deal with all his weirdness about it. He said he would do whatever I wanted. My only second thought is that I read somewhere that fathers in the birth room helps with bonding. I have serious doubts that is true in this case.
Has anyone left dad in the hall?
