Are Moms always right?

My mom is a great person and has been married to my dad for over twenty years, however before that she did have her fair share of heartbreak. I'm 18 and have been with my boyfriend now for almost two years and she doesn't hate him, she just says he's lazy and I deserve better. I know that sometimes he doesn't make as much effort as he could and she does tell me this but I love him so much😓. He is 20 and still lives at home but does very little (nothing) around the house. I've gone to uni this year an hour from where we live and despite my first year being almost over, he has only visited me three times. My mom says that he should do more for me and that I do too much for him even though I'm the one who's a poor student. I don't know what to do! I love him so so much but I know where my mom is coming from. I've been honest with him but nothing really changes. He makes an effort for two weeks then forgets again.
