Contractions ?

Okay so I'm 37 weeks pregnant, I've never had cramps before and I have a lot of pelvic pressure and keep feeling my lower stomach get sharp pains and tightening up and it hurts and I don't know if these are what contractions are.... So does this sound like contractions ? What do they feel like because I'm not sure what's going on

Contractions will take your breath away with how they hurt. It's so hard to describe! But yes... You'll know. I kept having Braxton hicks and thought for sure that was it. But when the real deal started I thought I'd been so silly mistaking the two!

I disagree that you will definitely know labor and contractions when they happen. When I went into labor with my son I had no idea what I was feeling were actually contractions. It felt crampy to me and not like anything people had described as labor contractions before. It didn't develop into sharper more unbearable pain until a couple hours later. If you have any doubts call you doctor. I did and he asked me to come in and by the time we got there it was clear I was in full blown labor. Good luck!

I didn't feel any contractions until my water broke. My second child I almost didn't make it to the hospital and we live 10 minutes away. If you feel uncertain, it's not bad to get checked out.

I wasn't sure at first if I was having contractions but best way to describe them is that I had a wide belt on and felty like there was a person on each side of me pull the belt as tigt as they would
