Any tips on moisturisers you have used to prevent stretch marks?

Hello everyone! Just wondering if anyone has any tips on moisturisers that you have used to prevent stretch marks? Or minimise

Problem is, who could tell? Some women don't get them at all, without using a cream. And how would you really know if they lessened the amount you would have? Like the other ladies, I agree we are likely genetically predisposed or not, and other than using any moisturizer to reduce the itching as your skin stretches there isn't too much you can do to prevent them!

You can prevent irritation and inflammation in stretch marks through 3 easy steps (but you can't prevent them if your genetically predispositioned to get them).

1) Drink lots of water: the better hydrated you are on the inside the better hydrated you'll be on the outside and well hydrated skin stretches better.

2) Exfoliate: Get a loofah or scrub brush and use it each time you shower. You'll slough away the dead skin to make way for fresh new skin.

3) Moisturize: pick any regular hypoallergenic moisturizer, scent free is very important because fragrance will dry your skin out. Use it at least twice a day, I do it when I wake up and before I go to bed at night as well as after each shower/bath.

My personal preference is Cetaphil moisturizer. It's about $5 for a good sized bottle.

Stretch marks are mostly genetic. If you are going to get them, you will. You can lessen them by keeping skin moisturized (your pick/your favorite) but that's about it. Good luck!

I honestly think that you're either predisposed to stretch marks or you aren't. I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and have used different moisturizers with all 3 and have no stretch marks.  I also have stretchy skin. I also have a theory that the younger you are, the more likely you are to get stretch marks, due to skin elasticity. I just don't see how a moisturizer is going to make your skin more elastic.
