Have you met your doctor yet??

Question

Just out of curiosity, is it normal to have 2-3 visits and not yet meet your OB? This is my first so I'm not sure what's normal when it comes to the doctor visits!

I find that odd. This is baby #5 for me and I've had a different ob with each child due to moving. Each ob personally introduced himself at the first visit. My last ob even sat down in his office with me to take my history himself.

I met mine at my second appt at 8 weeks because she had to do a pap, but I think that's pretty common to not meet them right away. If it's a good practice, the support staff should be well versed on what the dr wants and what's needed for the patient. But if it makes you uncomfortable, you can always mention you want to meet them and I'm sure they can schedule you for a time the dr can be around!

That doesn't sound normal...i met mine immediately. .she took time to speak with my partner and I and answer any questions.

The only person I see is my OB at every appointment. Besides getting check in at what not. He's the person that does everything each appointment. I guess every practice is different.

I am on my third pregnancy I live in California and with all my pregnancies from day 1 when my ob introduced him/her self they always see me in each appointment and both for my last 2 have delivered my girls I hope this time around the ob I have delivers this baby because I had a really bad hemorrhage with my last almost lost my uterus I had to get surgery to make it stop and I feel comfortable with this ob he said he will do everything to prevent it and be prepared for it if it happens again

Yes I've met him 8 times since I got pregnant not countin the fact that I knew him since I was born 😂
